About the A pint of cider

British cider ranges from bone dry to sweet, still to sparkling, and may be served by gravity, handpull, keg or bottle. Still ciders are poured straight; sparkling ones are poured like beer, down the side of a tilted glass.

CAMRA defines 'real' cider as fermented from the whole juice of fresh-pressed apples, not from concentrate. Find out more in our cider and perry guide.
