About the Irish Coffee

The trick is the cream: lightly thickened and chilled, poured gently over the back of a spoon so it floats. You drink the hot coffee through the cool cream.

Plain sugar can be replaced with sugar syrup. Contains caffeine as well as alcohol.

Background

The coffee is drunk through the cream, which is floated on top after the whiskey and sugar have been stirred in.
