About the Manhattan

Rich, spicy and gently sweet, the Manhattan pairs rye whiskey with sweet red vermouth and a dash of aromatic bitters. Stirring keeps it clear and silky.

Rye is traditional, but bourbon and other whiskies are commonly used too.

Background

Rye is the traditional whiskey of choice, though Canadian whisky, bourbon, blended and Tennessee whiskeys are also commonly used.
