About the Gin and Tonic

There is no official specification for a G&T; most recipes call for between one part gin to one of tonic and one to three. We use 1:3, which keeps it refreshing.

Use lots of ice so the drink stays cold without diluting quickly, and pour the tonic gently (down a bar spoon, if you like) to keep the bubbles.

Background

The ratio of gin to tonic varies with taste and the strength of the gin, with most recipes calling for between 1:1 and 1:3. It is usually garnished with a slice or wedge of lime.
